GEAP Application Guidelines
Use the yellow GEAP application for the following schools/programs:
Regional Gifted Centers
Classical Schools
Academic Centers
International Baccalaureate Preparatory Program
Do NOT use the white Standard Application for these schools.
The GEAP application can be downloaded from this website beginning October 1, 2007. You may also obtain the Options guide by calling the Office of Academic Enhancement at 773-553-2060, or you may call any GEAP school for a copy of the application.
Only one GEAP application is required per student. You may apply to more than one school on a single application.
All students applying for grades K-4 will be tested. Students applying for grades 5-8 must qualify for the admissions test. Eligibility requirements are listed on this website under the Overview of Gifted and Enriched Academic Programs (GEAP).
All applications must be postmarked no later than DECEMBER 21, 2007.
Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
If you wish the school to notify you when your application is received, please include a self-addressed, stamped postcard. Be sure to write the name of the school on the card. If your postcard is not returned within two weeks, contact the school.
Notification letters will be mailed in March 2008. If you do not receive a letter by the third week of March, contact the Office of Academic Enhancement at (773) 553-2060.
