Type Ctrl F and then type in your census tract number in order to locate this number in the first column. (The tract numbers in the first column have a “00” added to the end of the tract numbers). The first page containing your census tract number provides raw data about the socioeconomic variables for your census tract. Click on “Next” to go to the second page containing your census tract number. This page provides the actual scores that the raw data translates into. The final column on this page will tell you what your group number is.

Then click on the map document below:

Census Tract Maps – PopStats Update – 2009 12 01.pdf

On the 7th page of the document, you will see a map overlaid with 18 different numbers. Identify what part of the city you live in, and look on the subsequent pages to find the specific map that is labeled with that number. Once you locate that map, find your census tract number on the map. The color-coded key at the top right of the page will tell you what your group number is.
